Maud Ashong Elliot. As an enthusiastic lecturer at the University of Professional Studies, Accra, specialising in Systems Analysis and Design and Management Information Systems, I, Maud Ashong Elliot, am deeply invested in bridging the gender gap in technology and STEM. My academic journey, from obtaining a BSc. in Computer Science to pursuing a PhD in Information Systems, has been intertwined with my passion for advocating for women's empowerment in tech and safe internet practices.
In my bid for the Co-Chair of the AIS Women’s Network, I bring a blend of leadership, experience, and a vision for inclusive growth. With a rich background in mentoring young women and advocating for digital literacy across all ages, I aim to leverage these experiences to foster a supportive network that champions the advancement of women in the information systems community. My prior role as Treasurer and deep familiarity with the Network's mission and objectives have equipped me with the insights and dedication needed to innovate and drive the Network forward. I am eager to gain insights from my co-chair and collaborate efficiently with fellow executive members.
I pledge to cultivate a collaborative atmosphere that enables every member's success, leading by example to launch initiatives directly aligned with our shared objectives. My focus will be on implementing actionable strategies that reinforce our core values of empowerment, education, and engagement, ensuring that our network not only grows in numbers but also in strength and unity.
