Jiahe (Carrie) Song is an Associate Professor of Business Information Systems in the Haworth College of Business at Western Michigan University. Song earned a Ph.D. in Business Information Systems and an M.S. in Information Systems (IS) from the Department of Business Analytics and Information Systems at Auburn University (Auburn, AL). She received a B.S. in Information Systems and a second bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (Sichuan Province, China). Dr. Song’s research is mainly focused on the behavioral side of IS/IT. Sociological theories and empirical analytics modeling are frequently used. The societal and business influence of IS/IT intrigues her the most. Her research interests include healthcare digital transformation, social media platforms, and the impact of disruptive technologies through such methodologies as analytics modeling, survey, content analysis, experiment, and design science. She also actively brings emerging technologies, such as analytics and AI, into her research streams for relevant insights. Her work has appeared in high-quality peer-reviewed journals, such as Information & Management (I&M), Journal of Medical Internet Research (JMIR), Information Technology & People (ITP), International Journal of Medical Informatics (IJMI), Communications of the AIS (CAIS), and International Journal of Information Management (IJIM). She has also been active in presenting her research in progress at leading IS conferences. Her co-authored project on data-driven decision-making capability received funding from the NSF of China from 2017 to 2019. Song is also an active mentor in AIS Women's Network College.
