Franziska Schmitt
Bio: Franziska Schmitt is a PhD Candidate in Women's Entrepreneurship, Research Assistant, Creative Communications Strategist and Mindfulness Expert with 9 years of international work, study and lecturer experience. After completing her bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Finance, Franziska was working as a press spokeswoman at a bank, until she moved in 2015 to New Jersey, US for a master's degree in Business Communication. During this study time abroad, Franziska published a book chapter on gender quotas, interned at Morgan Stanley, volunteered as the President of 35 Protégées for the Women’s Leadership Mentoring Program, while doing research on the program and implementing enhancements. After her Master, she worked at tech startups in New York and Princeton as a product manager and marketing expert while simultaneously teaching a bachelor's course in Digital Communications at Rutgers University for 60 students. Franziska spent in 2019 four months in Indonesia to study mindfulness and has been living in Berlin since May 2019, where she worked at a boutique consulting firm with a focus on innovation, mindfulness, work cultures and managed a female founders accelerator.
Statement:
As a mindfulness teacher, communication strategist and women’s entrepreneurship researcher, I am interested in supporting the AIS Women’s Network with my communication and organizational skills as well as my passion of women empowerment, so that together, we can thrive and grow. With my research on the intersection of women's entrepreneurship and information systems, I strongly care about addressing women's obstacles in the IS field, through bringing light into the power of women in research. I can’t wait to follow that passion and calling, together with you!
