Safa’a AbuJarour, University of Potsdam, Germany
I am a teaching and research associate at the department of Business Informatics, University of Potsdam, Germany. Also, I am a founding member of the research group Digital Integration at the Weizenbaum Institute for the Networked Society in Berlin, Germany. My colleagues describe me as an internationally networked scholar with high engagement in national and international research projects. I have been awarded the AIS Doctoral Student Service Award in December 2019. For years, I have been actively contributing the success of AIS, e.g., by serving as track chair, program chair, and committee member at different outlets, like ECIS, PACIS, AMCIS, HICSS, and MENACIS. Moreover, I have been providing peer-review for top-tier journals and conferences. I am honored to also be an Executive Board Member of the AIS Women Network College and AIS SIG Social Inclusion. My conducted research is related to social inclusion, digital integration, digital learning, working from home, and COVID-19 topics. Additionally, I am the founder of the none-profit association “Place4Refugees” in Berlin and the founder and CEO of a startup in Berlin “ui-first”, which is concerned with integrating female software developers from developing countries in the international job market. My personal strength is “finding passion in every task I do and having a “hands-on” mentality.”
It is my pleasure to continue my services for the AIS Women’s Network College because I believe in the great mission of the network and I share my passion and motivation to grow the college and spread diversity, inclusion, and equity among the AIS scholars. I believe I fit very well for this position because of my extensive experience as social media manager, communication coordinator, and online marketer in different institutions and channels.
